Our Work

We have had the privilege to work with dozens of non-profit organizations and businesses both large and small.

Here are some samples of our recent work.

Harvard Shorenstein Center website mockup

ACADEMIC

Harvard Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy

The website of the Shorenstein Center, based at the Harvard Kennedy School, was in need of a design makeover and an update to its outdated functionality.  We worked with the center to build a fresh site that features bold photography and a new magazine style homepage layout.  We also built advanced search and filter functionality to enable visitors to find and explore the center’s vast archive of research papers quickly and easily.

ADVOCACY CAMPAIGN

Invest for Better

We created a website for investforbetter.org, a new campaign designed to encourage more women to join the impact investing movement.  Our client needed a way to convey the many different reasons why women might want to rearrange their investment strategy to bring it more in line with their values, such as concern about climate change  or wanting to support women-owed business.  The website’s homepage uses a type-scroll feature, providing an engaging way for site visitors to learn about the many reasons impact investing might be right for them.  Learn more about the campaign at investforbetter.org.

TECH

Evocalize

We redesigned the website for Evocalize, a Seattle-based technology company specializing in use of artificial intelligence to create social media marketing tools targeted to just the right audiences.  The new site showcases the brand as a trusted partner for some of the world’s leading brands and features a slider of testimonials from industry leaders.  It is also built with SEO front and center, with a navigation that makes it easy for visitors to see the breadth of industries Evocalize serves and read success stories in each category.

NONPROFIT NEWSROOM

The War Horse

We redesigned the website of The War Horse, an award-winning nonprofit newsroom dedicated to telling the stories of service members, veterans, and their families.  The site features a magazine style with featured stories and sections for major topics covered by the newsroom.  It also features strategically placed lead generating forms to solicit donations and subscribers to their newsletter.

ONLINE STOREFRONT

Tupelo Press

We built a new website for  www.tupelopress.org, a non-profit publishing house.  The old site’s content was difficult to read on a small screen and because the site had no content management system, even the simplest updates had to be done by an experienced web developer.  Donations and sales also had to be processed manually, a major time sink for Tupelo’s staff.  We built the new fully responsive, custom designed site on WordPress and added woocommerce software so staff can easily add new publications and make updates on their own.  We also advised Tupelo on a new donor software program which we synched with the new site.  Now donation tracking and donor acknowledgement is fully automated and authors can crowd-fund for Tupelo right from the publisher’s site.   Finally, we added a highly visible e-newsletter sign up form to strengthen Tupelo’s marketing and fundraising programs.

WHOLESALE & RETAIL

Milmar Food Group

Milmar Food Group, North America’s largest producers of frozen hors d’oeuvres, came to us to help them build a web presence.  We began by helping the client with messaging for the site, including writing a tagline, Your partner in good taste,  that reflected the company’s core values of producing high-quality frozen foods and developing deep and lasting partnerships with their customers.  We also built a full digital catalog of the company’s products with advanced search and filter functionality, enabling site visitors to discover new products based on their unique needs.  Finally, we built an About Us page that captures the multigenerational story of the company, beginning with the company’s founding by the current owners’ great grandparents.

HEALTHCARE

Medicine for Living

We helped a client with branding and web design for a new medical practice providing integrative medicine with aid of DNA testing.  The client needed a logo that conveyed the practice’s approach to using technology and holistic medicine.  We developed a brand identify, including a logo, color scheme, and typography that reflected the practice’s mission, emphasizing the mind, body and spirit connection.

FINANCE

Fair Street Advisors

When the founder of Fair Street Advisors started this new venture, we helped build a website with messaging and design that reflected the values of the company, centered around their commitment to highly personalized service to their high net-worth clients.  We used a travel theme for the photography on the site, as a symbol of the firm’s goal of helping their clients achieve financial freedom.

ADVOCACY

Connecticut Against Gun Violence

We were honored to partner with Connecticut Against Gun Violence on a pro-bono basis to give their website a facelift and upgrade their capacity to get their message out.  The new website strengthened their brand by showcasing their members in action, including adding an Instagram feed on the homepage, enabling them to display their activities in real time. We also built a page that displays CAGV’s sortable report card system for candidates running for office in Connecticut, based on their voting records.

FOOD TECHNOLOGY

TastesNatural

We partnered with TastesNatural to revamp their website in order to better reflect their mission – to make healthy food taste good.  We designed a site with a fresh new color palette and a layout that invites users to explore the various applications for TasteNatural’s products, with clear calls to action.  SEO was front and center in the site’s design and copy, significantly improving search results rankings in a few short months.
